Study Abroad:
Spanish + Semester Courses in Economics, Humanities & Culture

This program is designed for students interested in spending a semester abroad in Barcelona. The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB - International Area) offers students a wide range of English-taught semester courses in subjects as varied as economics, humanities and culture.

Students can choose up to 4 semester courses to combine with the Spanish course, which is taught in Spanish and accessible to all levels. Additionally, a Spanish for Business course – which is also taught in Spanish and accessible to all levels – may be selected as one of the semester courses.

The UAB’s semester abroad program is very popular because it allows students to gain academic credits while experiencing a new culture, learning Spanish and meeting fellow students from all across the globe. Credits are earned through each semester course, and it's up to the student to present the official documentation provided by the UAB at their home university in order to gain academic credits.

All of the courses listed below are taught in English with the exception of the Spanish Language and Culture and the Spanish for Business courses, which are accessible to students at all levels of proficiency. Students can choose between 2 and 4 semester courses to combine with the obligatory Spanish course.

Each course consists of 45 hours (3,5 hours per week), except for the Spanish Language and Culture course in Fall and Spring. This course consist of 90 hours in total (7 hours per week). On completion, students receive the necessary certificate to obtain credits at their home university.
