Course Description
The development of information technology (IT) has impacted our world more strongly and pervasively than any other technology in history. Today, IT plays a decisive role in the global economy where knowledge is the highest-valued resource and companies engage in a constant process of strategic reevaluation to take advantage of emerging technologies.
This course examines issues related to the Internet; the most significant technology of our day with regard to business and communication. Web technologies have revolutionized the way individuals, companies and governments interact and conduct business. E-commerce, privacy and security, policy, hardware and software, legal and economic issues include some of the topics addressed. The technology, strategy and management methods behind e-commerce are investigated along with a study of the risks involved in their use.
