A study of the historical development of the European Union and its economy. Focuses on economic integration and cohesion within the context of European government and policies.

Requirements: Graduate or Undergratuate students, minimum age: 18. Fluent in English. Basic knowledge of micro and macroeconomics; intermediate micro and macroeconomics and basic calculus courses recommended

Course Description

Understanding European Economy

The historical development of the European Union provides the framework for a comprehensive introduction to the EU economy; one of the world’s largest ,encompassing more than 710 million people in nearly 50 different states.

 

European economic integration and cohesion is studied, with a brief focus on the case of Spain and its current position within EU dynamics. Additional topics include European government, institutions and policies.
