Spanish History

Provides a comprehensive view of Spain’s historical development over the past 3,500 years. Focuses on the evolution and adaptation of cultures in Spain throughout the world’s major historical shifts. Ties in concepts from anthropology, philosophy, politics and art.

Requirements: Graduate or Undergratuate students, minimum age: 18. Fluent in English.

Course Description

Spanish HistoryAnthropology, philosophy, politics and art all come together to provide a comprehensive view of Spain’s historical development over the past 3,500 years.  This course draws on Mediterranean, European and African themes as a reference for the fascinating study of the Iberian Peninsula’s historical civilizations.

The evolution and adaptation of cultures in Spain throughout the world’s defining periods is a major topic of this interdisciplinary course, which also draws historical comparisons with the US.
